He is the author, most recently, of Thinking Freedom in Africa: Towards a Theory of Emancipatory Politics (2016); Politics and Culture in African Emancipatory Thought (2021); and Domains of politics and modes of rule: Political structures of the neocolonial state in Africa (2023). He is currently working on a book entitled Transcending our colonial place: Africa and the dialectics of emancipation to be published by Daraja Press in June 2025.
