A Reader in Law and Critical Theory at SOAS, University of London, her research has centered on the colonial foundations of modern law, with property as its main focus. She is the author of Colonial Lives of Property: Law, Land and Racial Regimes of Ownership (2018), as well as the editor, together with Rafeef Ziadah, of Revolutionary Feminisms. Conversations on Collective Action and Radical Thought. Brenna has published widely in the areas of critical legal theory, sovereignty and indigenous rights, contemporary disputes over ownership and property rights, among other themes.
